No England move yet for Mallinder

NORTHAMPTON SAINTS insist there has been no formal contact from England to Jim Mallinder about taking over Martin Johnson’s role — but the Saints insist they will battle to keep hold of their director of rugby.

Since Mallinder moved to Franklin’s Gardens in 2007, Northampton have won promotion, the European Challenge Cup and Anglo-Welsh Cup.

The Saints have also reached two Premiership semi-finals and last season’s Heineken Cup final.
