O’Driscoll confirms surgery success

BRIAN O’DRISCOLL is on the road to recovery after confirming yesterday that he has had successful surgery on his injured shoulder.

The Ireland and Leinster star struggled with a shoulder problem throughout the World Cup and yesterday said via Twitter that he had undergone an operation to fix a trapped nerve.

He tweeted: “Op done. Now the recovery begins. Thanks for the all the well wishing. #stillabitzonked #probablywontplayonsunday”.

O’Driscoll’s recovery from the surgery is expected to keep him out for the next six months.
