BOD battles Hook on Twitter

BRIAN O’DRISCOLL and George Hook got into a war of words last night on Twitter.

BOD battles Hook on Twitter

O’Driscoll tweeted, “Finally RTE have some professional players as pundits who can give some insight into the game WE play these days. #abouttime” which cause George Hook to send the comment out to his followers with the line “best compliment ever!”

But the broadcaster did not stop there, and sent the following message to the Irish captain: “@BrianODriscoll believes only Presidents can comment on elections; accountants on NAMA; doctors on obesity; and his mates on rugby!!”

When quizzed by his followers, Hook added: “Interesting that he considers a former Irish full back, a NZ provincial player and an international coach unqualified.”

One tweeter told Hook “its astonishing that you get paid to talk about rugby” to which he replied: “Astonishing and wonderful for over 15 years.” O’Driscoll couldn’t leave the issue go, tweeting: “Massive bite on the end of that hook! Respect to the MAJORITY of non playing panelists. Thought Ben Kay was good tonight.”

The issue trended around the world on Twitter.
