MUNSTER maintained their winning start to the season and while they conceded their first try of the season, another superb defensive display was the foundation for victory at Cardiff City Stadium last night.

The magnificent defence provided the platform and another flawless display of kicking from Ian Keatley — six from six and none of them easy — ensured Munster remained top of the RaboDirect Pro12.

Keatley ended up in the bin in the closing stages as Munster, who rarely threatened the home try line, frantically defended their lead and they were let off the hook when Dan Fish sent a forward pass to Alex Cuthbert who had a chance to win the game at the death.
