Edinburgh off the mark
The home side led 6-0 at the break thanks to two penalties from Greig Laidlaw. The big breakthrough came after Niall O’Connor’s attempted chip was blocked down an replacement scrum-half Gregor Hunter claimed the touchdown with Laidlaw adding the extras. O’Connor made amends with a try for Connacht and Matthew Jarvis had a couple of penalties but it proved futile.
