New blow to Munster Senior Cup as ’Well pull out
Sunday’s Well are just one of a number of clubs ill-prepared for an early start to this year’s tournament and their match with Cashel, due to be played tonight, has been cancelled, with the Tipperary club given a bye into the next round.
Yesterday, Sunday’s Well chairman Michael Collopy admitted to being disappointed at the outcome but pointed out: “The club was not in a position to go ahead with the fixture this early in the season for a variety of reasons; injuries, players being on holidays and the unavailability of other players.
“Our focus these days is on the All Ireland League.
“It’s maybe a sign of the times but it is, nevertheless, a reality.”
