Blues trio in frame for Euro award

THREE Leinster players have been short-listed for the ERC European Player of the Year award.

Jamie Heaslip, Isa Nacewa and Sean O’Brien have been nominated for rugby’s top award in Europe along with Stade Francais’ Sergio Parisse and Northampton’s Soane Tonga’uiha.

However, Sean O’Brien, the Tullow Tank, is remaining focused on the two finals ahead.

“There is a lot of excitement about the place thinking about what we could possibly do,” he said.

“But if we don’t win something we will just be the same as everyone else, taking early holidays. We know what we have to do. We have to go out and win a trophy, it is as simple as that.”
