Poite to referee Heineken final

The European showpiece in Cardiff will be Poite’s first Heineken Cup final but the Frenchman has often caused a stir in Irish rugby.

Poite gave Leinster’s Ireland props Cian Healy and Mike Ross a tough time at scrum-time in this seasons’s Six Nations opener against Italy in Rome and has also causedcontroversy with his handling of both Leinster and Munster matches in the past.

Ireland’s George Clancy will referee the Amlin final, between Harlequins and Stade Francais, at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, May 20.
