Fiat in line to replace Magners

THE Celtic League are at an advanced stage in negotiations with prospective new sponsors for the four-nation, 12-team tournament.

Current backers, Magners, ends a five-yearassociation with the competition next month.

A spokesperson for the Celtic League confirmed the imminent Magners exit yesterday but pointed to increased attendance and TV figures, coupled with a jump in website hits, as evidence of the league’s growth.

A number of multinationals are said to be interested in the product. Italian car giant, Fiat, are understood to be amongst those in contention to replace the drinks company.
