Ferris out of Saints clash

The Lions flanker will miss Ulster’s Heineken Cup quarter-final against Northampton Saints after struggling with a knee problem since the province’s match against Aironi in January.

“Knee post surgery. A little sore but nothing a few pain killers won’t sort out,” he posted on Twitter yesterday with a picture of his leg resting.

“I will now be leading the operation count in the Ulster squad with after today, having 6. Jonny Davis is on 5 and Rory Best is on 4 along with a few others. Plz god let this be the last one.”

Ferris needs arthroscopic surgery after a period of treatment and rehabilitation.
