Confident Heaslip bristles at Gaffney’s anxiety suggestions

ALAN GAFFNEY put the cat amongst the pigeons this week when he suggested anxiety, confidence and communication issues were the causes of Ireland’s alarming error count in the first two Six Nations matches.

Maybe that was the wily backs coach’s intention as it brought about denials verging on the indignant from the Irish players ahead of tomorrow’s Murrayfield encounter with Scotland.

A bit of indignation may just be what it takes to get Ireland back on an even keel after handing victory to France on a plate two weeks ago at the Aviva Stadium.
