AVONMORE Milk’s sponsorship of the Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cups continues for the seventh year with the senior event due to get underway over the next few days.

This afternoon, last year’s beaten finalists, Rockwell, face St Munchin’s at Clanwilliam Park, Tipperary; Ard Scoil Rís and Crescent clash at the Garryowen grounds in Dooradoyle and CBC and Castletroy meet at Woodleigh Park.

The eight schools are guaranteed two matches with the winners of round one securing home advantage in round two against the losers from the opening games.

Kieran O’Connor, Glanbia sponsorship manager, revealed at yesterday’s launch at UL that the company are introducing a bursary support of €5,000 to be split between two selected players from the Munster 1st year academy as well as a man-of-the-match award for the senior final.
