Coach Johnson hails brilliant Bowe

ASIDE from his pack, Ospreys’ director of rugby Scott Johnson was also impressed by Tommy Bowe’s impressive switch to outside centre.

The Ireland star came off the wing to partner James Hook in the Welsh midfield, bolstering an area that was well below par a week earlier at Thomond Park.

“He hadn’t played there much for us but what he gives you is composure on the ball,” Johnson said of Bowe.

“I just felt we weren’t getting the best of a gifted player and it’s nice to get him involved a little bit more. I like the combination of him with James.

“You can play Tommy just about anywhere, and you’d get a good performance.

“We’re just very fortunate to have him and be able to play him in multiple positions.”
