Carter: Ireland need a controlled approach
Ireland defence coach Les Kiss has spoken of the need to restrict New Zealand’s opportunities from broken play, though the backs will hope to be let off the leash and play a more expansive brand of rugby than has been seen at the Aviva of late.
“The way the game is going you need to be prepared to use the ball but not recklessly,” said Carter who starts at number 10, just as he did two years ago when Ireland lost 22-3 despite a policy of keeping things tight at Croke Park.
