Three week ban for Ryan

DONNACHA RYAN, right, will play no further part in Ireland’s autumn international campaign after he was last night handed a three-week ban.

Ryan was found guilty of foul play against Samoa last Saturday having been cited for stamping on an opponent during a 12-minute spell as a second-half substitute.

The Munster forward, appearing via video conference from Dublin at a disciplinary hearing in London’s Heathrow, escaped a lengthier ban after his previously exemplary disciplinary record was taken into account. His suspension will run until midnight, December 5.

Earlier in the day, Samoa hooker Ti’I Paulo escaped punishment following a citing for a dangerous tackle against Connacht last Tuesday.
