McGahan: O’Connell on road to recovery

PAUL O’CONNELL is on target for a return to competitive rugby within the next month, according to Munster coach Tony McGahan.

The Irish international, out of the game since March with complications arising from a groin injury, may play at least one Magners League game before the province’s back-to-back Heineken Cup ties against the Ospreys in mid-December.

Munster face the Scarlets at Musgrave Park on Sunday and have further league ties against the Dragons and Cardiff Blues before the Welsh outfit come to Thomond Park on December 13.
