The Australian admitted Ireland failed to adapt to the conditions in their lethargic outing against South Africa on Saturday, but believes the game plan Ireland attempted to play is the template they must perfect if they are to compete with the best teams.

Ireland’s attempts to flash the ball wide in difficult conditions led to a number of knock-ons and at times the efforts to make plays looked forced and laboured.
