INSPIRING MOSS

JASON HOLLAND says Munster have drawn on the example of the late Moss Keane, who died during the week, ahead of their Heineken Cup clash with London Irish tomorrow.

INSPIRING MOSS

The Munster backs coach said Keane was spoken about at the team meeting earlier in the week ahead of the European opener.

“It’s definitely fresh in people’s minds, even those who’ve been here one or two years. They’ve quickly gotten an understanding of what he meant to Munster rugby and the respect he was held in by people in the province.

“There were the obvious guys like Gaillimh, and those of us who’ve been around for years, but even during the team meeting, when it was mentioned, there was an understanding of the significance of what he’d done.

“During the week Axel (Anthony Foley) brought up the fact that Moss would have been travelling down from Dublin to play for Munster years ago... so it just goes to show the sacrifices he made to play for Munster.”
