MUNSTER make television history tomorrow when their Heineken Cup clash with London Irish is carried in 3D by Sky Sports.

Tony McGahan’s side will be the first Irish team to be shown in the format and the tie is also the first rugby match to be broadcast to homes across Ireland and Britain by Sky 3D, Europe’s first in-home 3D channel.

The match is part of a huge opening weekend of European rugby union, with 12 matches, carried live by Sky.

Sky Sports have 40 live televised matches with 10 live ties from each of the first four rounds and all 24 competing sides will be shown at least three times – Colm O’Connor
