Mafi cited for tackle on D’Arcy

MUNSTER centre Lifeimi Mafi, right, has been cited for a first-half clash with Gordon D’Arcy in Saturday Magners League defeat to Leinster at the Aviva Stadium.

Mafi has been cited by the independent citing commissioner under law 10.4 (e) for an alleged dangerous tackle and 10.4 (a) for allegedly punching or striking in an incident with D’Arcy in the 19th minute of the tie.

The hearing will take place in the Ulster Branch offices in Ravenhill, Belfast at 4pm today.

Meanwhile, Leinster captain Leo Cullen could make a sensational return from injury in time for Saturday’s Heineken Cup opener against Racing Metro at the RDS.

Cullen, who underwent a shoulder operation in early May, trained fully with the Leinster squad yesterday and has been given “an outside chance” of making the squad.
