Kelly reveals training squad for Euro Cup

IRELAND coach Andy Kelly has included 13 Super League players in his 30-man training squad for next month’s Alitalia European Cup. The contingent is headed by prop Eamon O’Carroll and hooker Mick McIlorum but Warriors team-mate Pat Richards, one of Ireland’s heroes from their 2008 World Cup campaign, is not available.

Huddersfield utility player Scott Grix will captain the side and is joined in the squad for the first time by his brother Simon, of Warrington.

“We are targeting three wins out of three and plan few surprises, like in the World Cup,” said Kelly. Ireland face trips to France and Wales (October 9 and 17) before taking on Scotland in Tallaght on October 24.
