FOR the second week running Crosshaven caused a major shock in the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup when they defeated holders Kilfeacle 24-3 at the Tipperary venue.

The visitors led 17-3 at half-time with a try from Ross O’Connell and four penalties by Liam Delaney. Shane Luby replied with a penalty for the home side. Delaney rounded off a fine performance with a late try, which he himself also converted.

Tralee reached the last four with a 30-17 home win over Cobh Pirates. Ger Breen scored two tries for the winners and John Gilmartin got one. Gareth Walsh kicked two penalties and a conversion and Brian Mullins one conversion. Cobh replied with tries from Alan Langford, Mark Chandler and Brendan Mulcahy while Joey Hoyne kicked one conversion.
