Holley bemoans tackle law

OSPREYS coach Sean Holley is becoming increasingly frustrated by referees’ interpretation of the tackle laws.

Holley bemoans tackle law

Following defeat to Munster, Holley said it was getting more difficult for players and coaches to figure out how problems arise in big games. Holley insisted there was no blame on Scottish referee Neil Paterson for his team’s defeat but said: “The frustration for players and coaches is how consistently they’re officiated, it’s difficult because so much goes on at the tackle contest. They have to referee the clear and obvious and sometimes it’s not clear and obvious. Surely it will level out but it’s not easy for anyone at the moment.

“It has been different every week so far; tonight the referee was consistent, he’s a good ref, but when you go from a Scottish to an Irish to an Italian to a Welsh and English and French, I imagine it’s going to be difficult to find consistency.
