Bowe, who has collected similar accolades from the Irish and Welsh Professional Players’ Associations, battles it out with Cardiff duo Xavier Rush and Ceri Sweeney, the league’s top scorer Tim Visser (Edinburgh) along with Aled Brew of Newport Gwent Dragons. Visser and Leinster’s Cian Healy are in the running for the ‘Young Player of the Season’ award, which was open to those players who were under 23 and uncapped at the start of the season.

They also had to play a minimum of 300 minutes in the 2009/10campaign.
