Henry scoops Ulster awards treble

AWARDS: Chris Henry has scooped three top awards at the annual Ulster Rugby Awards ceremony.

Back-rower Henry was named as the Magners League Personality of the Year, the Rugby Writers Player of the Year and the Ulster Rugby Supporters Outstanding Player of the Season.

A big, ball-carrying back row, Henry stepped up to captain the province in-place of the injured Rory Best, and also skippered the Ireland Wolfhounds when they faced Scotland A at Ravenhill.

The powerful number eight has made 31 Ulster appearances and has represented Ireland at U21 and Sevens levels, as well as Ireland A, where he was key to the team’s Churchill Cup success last summer. Earlier this week he was named in the 33-man Irish squad to tour Australia and New Zealand this summer.
