Cork Con claim honourable draw in cup row

WHILE Cork Constitution may not get the chance to defend their ODM Munster Senior Cup crown, the club will be satisfied they have received some vindication in their recent row with the Munster Branch.

The branch say the parties have now resolved their differences, after an unseemly disagreement over Cork Con’s inability to field a team for their semi-final clash with Young Munster.

A branch statement read: “The Munster Branch have acknowledged that Cork Con did not refuse to play the ODM Munster Senior Cup semi-final but were unable to field a team on that date due to the fixture clashing with an Irish international club game, an Irish U-20 game, a Munster A game and injuries to key front row forwards.
