Murphy close to Tigers deal

GEORDAN MURPHY is on the verge of signing a new three year deal with Leicester Tigers to keep him in the club until the end of 2013 season.

The offer will be seen as a huge vote of confidence by the English outfit in their current captain who made a return to international rugby a fortnight ago in Twickenham having recovered from a serious shoulder injury.

That injury, sustained in the act of attempting to score a try for Leicester back in September, has now fully healed and Murphy was the recipient of high praise for his performance against England.
