Departing Red de Villiers eyeing Stormers return

JEAN DE VILLIERS cannot see himself playing for any other South African except the Stormers, following his revelation last week that he will quit Munster in favour of a return to his homeland.

The 28-year-old signed an initial one-year deal with the Irish club when he joined last September, but announced he was leaving the province due to his desire to represent the Springboks at next year’s World Cup. His decision came after consultation with the South African Rugby Union (SARU), who confirmed that players plying their trade outside the country will not be considered for selection ahead of next year’s finals.

De Villiers is now on a mission to find a new team and he admitted his desire to return to Cape Town.
