Ryan triplets to line out for St Munchin’s

SCHOOLS rugby is abundant with examples of father and son representation, but former Munster second-row Ray Ryan must be on the cusp of creating something of a record.

Today, the appearance of his triplet sons in the same St Munchin’s College to take on Rockwell in the Avonmore Munster Schools Senior Cup game at Clanwilliam (3pm) will be a special occasion in the history of the tournament.

Ryan, who was also a stalwart of the Young Munster team over more than a decade, will watch as sons Gavin and Evan fill the two second-row positions and the third of the brood plays at scrum-half.
