Danielli: We didn’t play as well as we should

SATURDAY’S Magners League game at Ravenhill was effectively decided by the two first-half tries touched down by Ulster’s Scottish international wing Simon Danielli.

Munster were guilty of the same sort of generosity that saw them gift three tries to Perpignan in the Heineken Cup game at Thomond Park last month but Danielli wasn’t complaining.

“The first was a charge down, the ball fell into my hands, I spun to the left and there was no one in front of me so it was happy days,” he said. “For the second, all credit goes to Trimby (Andrew Trimble) because he looked like he was running into four players only to come out the other side and feed outside and it was a straight run to the line.
