Cheika’s return to Australia in doubt

LEINSTER coach Michael Cheika is mulling over at least one offer from a European club and may not be returning to Australia after all.

Media reports Down Under also said Cheika planned to bring “a significant number of top players” to Melbourne with him, though it wasn’t clear if that included some of his current charges at Leinster.

Cheika had been earmarked for Melbourne’s new Super 15 rugby franchise, but acrimony between the team’s potential owners and the sport’s governing body are believed to be giving the Aussie native second thoughts.
