Fogarty impressed with du Preez

DENIS FOGARTY has given the seal of approval to new on-loan prop Wian du Preez in advance of Munster’s return Heineken Cup fixture with Perpignan in France on Sunday.

Fogarty has been highly impressed with du Preez since his arrival off the back of South Africa’s European tour three weeks ago. Since then, the newcomer has packed down with a degree of comfort in the Magners League against the Ospreys and in the European clash with the French champions last week.

“We all have been very impressed,” said Fogarty yesterday. “He is an extremely good scrummager and we were amazed with him when he came into his very first training camp; he wasted no time and knew nearly all of the calls. He knew what was happening in the line outs and in the scrums; that was so impressive and he obviously took the information he was given and did his homework, putting him up to date on everything so there was no wasted time.”
