Boost for Munster as O’Connell fighting fit

PAUL O’CONNELL gave his Munster colleagues a boost yesterday by declaring himself fit and ready for the Heineken Cup challenge against French champions Perpignan on Friday.

O’Connell missed out on the Magners League clash against the Ospreys on Saturday with a mild calf muscle strain, but is certain to play in the crucial make or break European clash.

While his fitness is not an issue, skipper O’Connell did express concern about something else — Munster’s lack of form of late.
