Sexton offers glimpse of future

DECLAN KIDNEY knew when he handed Jonathan Sexton the number 10 jersey against Fiji that he could be presenting himself with a major selection headache.

And so it proved.

From the time Sexton fielded the kick-off in Saturday’s clash with Fiji and set off on a scything 50-metre run, he was like a man inspired and looked every inch an international out-half. Despite the horrendous weather conditions his handling, kicking, passing and decision-making were virtually flawless.
