Former Ulster star Best blasts facilities as ‘joke’

IRISH international back row Neil Best has hit out at his former employers in Ulster, describing facilities for players in the North as “a joke” and expressing regret that he didn’t leave the province earlier.

Best, who played for Ulster for six years, now plays for Northampton in the English Premiership. He compared facilities in the English club with those on offer in Ulster in an interview with The Sunday Times yesterday.

“What I was used to in Ulster paled in comparison,” Best said. “I couldn’t really compare it. The gym we had in Ulster was about 15 foot by 20 foot. It was a joke.
