Munster to launch new home strip next month

The new kit will be officially launched on August 12, two days before the province face Sale Sharks in their opening pre-season friendly. However, an American website last night leaked pictures of the new kit which will be worn by Paul O’Connell and company next season.

The words “wear with pride and honesty” are embossed on the inside of the collar, while the six counties of Munster are imprinted along the bottom end of the jersey, symbolising the unity within the province.

Meanwhile, adidas are offering six lucky fans the chance to be one of the first to see the jersey at an exclusive preview event at Thomond Park. The six will also play an active role in the official jersey launch alongside six Munster players, including O’Connell and Ronan O’Gara.

Paul Moloney of adidas Ireland said: “We know this is more than just a jersey for the Munster players. When they put it on, they do so with immense pride, knowing what it represents; the history and heritage of this great club.. Munster fans are an integral part of (this), so for us, it makes sense that they should play a role in launching this special new jersey.”

Fans must put in writing an example of their devotion to the Red Army to be in with a chance of winning the prize.
