Munster close in on Magners title

MAGNERS LEAGUE leaders Munster are almost over the finish line in an exciting title race after their chief chasers the Ospreys failed to beat Edinburgh at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday night.

Phil Godman kicked a last-minute conversion as Edinburgh sealed a bonus-point (30-32) victory against the Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium, moving themselves up to third in the Magners League table. Godman converted Jim Hamilton’s late try after the Ospreys had led 30-25 going into the closing stages of an end-to-end game.

But despite the defeat, a try-scoring bonus point and a losing bonus point keep the Welsh region in with a mathematical chance of taking the Magners League title even though leaders Munster are 14 points ahead.
