Sexton appeal fails

THE Irish Rugby Football Union Disciplinary Appeals Committee has turned down an appeal against Jonathan Sexton’s suspension for kicking Munster’s Lefeimi Mafi.

Sexton was found guilty last Wednesday and suspended for two weeks but Leinster appealed the decision.

An IRFU hearing yesterday upheld the citing and the appeal was dismissed. The two week suspension imposed was confirmed. Sexton will be free to play again on Thursday April 23.
