Stringer echoed the thoughts of his captain Brian O’Driscoll, thanking those who travelled in their thousands to support the team in Cardiff last Saturday and who also turned up for the squad’s homecoming.

The Munster scrum-half delivered the crucial pass for long-time team-mate, Ronan O’Gara, who dropped the goal that sealed Ireland ‘s first Grand Slam in 61 years.
