IRELAND’S RBS Six Nations win over Scotland on Murrayfield on Saturday proved another ratings winner for RTÉ.

The television audience peaked at 826,000 in the final moments of the match — second only to the 1.1million viewers who tuned in for the defeat of England at Croke Park.

Glen Killane, Group Head of Sport, RTÉ, said: “Ireland has kept their Grand Slam hopes well and truly alive by defeating Scotland and we can now look forward to a hugely exciting final weekend of Six Nations action when we face the holders, Wales, at Cardiff. Fans will delight in this historic game and we’re thrilled to bring it and the other two final games live and free-to-air next Saturday.”
