Jennings appeals ban

THE IRFU Disciplinary Panel will hold an appeal hearing this evening into the suspension of Leinster flanker Shane Jennings.

Jennings received a three week ban, which will end on midnight, Tuesday 27 January 2009, for striking Connacht second row Andrew Farley during the second half of a Magners League game.

The ban rules him out of the province’s two remaining pool games in the Heineken Cup — against Wasps on Saturday and Edinburgh on January 25.

The three-man IRFU Appeal Committee will be chaired by Pat Barriscale, who will be assisted by Harry McKibbin and Robin Cole.
