Clermont boss sees red over dismissal

THE relief etched on the face of Munster coach Tony McGahan and the downbeat body language of his Clermont Auvergne counterpart Vern Cotter told their own stories after Saturday’s Heineken Cup thriller at Thomond Park.

The heartbreaking manner of the defeat was the chief cause of Cotter’s disappointment but he was also hugely annoyed with the red card shown to Jamie Cudmore while Paul O’Connell escaped with yellow after a fierce dust-up in the 18th minute.

Said Cotter: “I thought a red card and a yellow card was a fairly unbalanced decision. But we need to look at the footage and be objective about it.
