ANDREW HIGGINS came off the bench to rescue Bath’s Heineken Cup campaign with a 67th-minute try as they edged out Newport Gwent Dragons 13-9 in Pool Five.

The wing finally broke the Welsh side’s resistance after the Guinness Premiership leaders had laid siege to the Dragons for over an hour.

Until Higgins’ effort, that surge had yielded just two Butch James penalties, with Shaun Connor replying in a similar fashion to claim a bonus point for the Dragons.
