Leamy eyes return in November

The Cashel man became the latest victim of a serious shoulder injury towards the end of last season and it looked as if he would be out until the new year. Happily, the reconstruction has gone extremely well and Leamy trained with the squad yesterday at the University of Limerick.

While he avoided any contact work, he expects to do so within the next few days. He will miss Munster’s two opening Heineken Cup matches against Montauban on Friday night and Sale Sharks on Sunday week, along with Ireland’s November internationals against Canada, New Zealand and Argentina. All going well, however, he expects to be available for the back-to-back Heineken Cup games against Clermont Auvergne in December.
