McGahan privileged to herald new era

IT will be a proud day for Tony McGahan when he leads Munster into a new era at Thomond Park.

The Munster coach described the opportunity to oversee the team’s preparations for the opening competitive game at the newly developed stadium as a privilege.

“The old stadium holds many fond memories for everyone; I’ve only been here (in Ireland) a very short time but I’m certainly aware of the history, some of what went on over the years to get to this point, and in relation to Saturday I’ve said to the players, the place can only be opened once, so it will be a special occasion.
