Kidney salutes legend Foley
It’s a milestone that will hardly be repeated in the professional era, but Foley is a man apart, one who seamlessly bridged the amateur and professional eras, and who came through the old system: first St Munchin’s, then onto Shannon before captaining both Munster and Ireland.
The club was very important to the Clareman and back row forward, and it was at Shannon where his leadership skills and hard edge were honed and brought to professional level.
