O’Callaghan demands improvement
“It wasn’t great,” said O’Callaghan. “We are going to have to improve on certain areas: our scrum was poor. Like Perpignan a few years ago, it was just about getting a result. I know we’re going to start playing rugby, but it was cup final stuff, that was what it was all about, getting through to the next round, that’s all we give a s*** about.”
He added: “It was like a cup final, the stuff we’re reared on. Look at all the guys around: they’ve been brought up on Munster Senior Schools Cup, Munster Senior Cup. When you go into your club, Senior Cup is everything, that’s what we’re used to.
“We didn’t play our patterns as well as we could have. Our performances would have to be lifted.
“The frustrating thing as well is that we probably won in fourth gear. Not trying to be disrespectful, there was good intensity to our play and I’m trying not to be negative, but we can up it, I know we can.”
