Six Nations worth over €525m to participants

THE SIX Nations Championship is worth over €525 million to the economies of the competing countries, sponsors, Royal Bank of Scotland has estimated.

Rugby fans are expected to spend around €200m as they support their team over the course of this year’s Championship.

And the overall value to the economies of the six nations — Ireland, England, France, Italy, Scotland and Wales is estimated to be €526.8m.
