Quinlan: we must keep focus

MUNSTER flanker Alan Quinlan hopes his side will have recovered mentally and physically for Saturday’s must-win Heineken Cup showdown with London Wasps (Thomond Park, 5.35pm, Sky Sports).

Declan Kidney’s side kept their hopes of qualifying from Heineken Cup Pool 5 alive by securing a bonus point in a 26-19 defeat to Clermont on Sunday. Now Munster, the 2006 champions, will face reigning Heineken Cup champions Wasps with the visitors three points clear of their hosts, and ASM Clermont Auvergne a further point adrift.

Said Quinlan: “I’ve been out a lot with injury but I’m going to take my opportunity of being back in the squad and take nothing for granted. There are a lot of sore bodies in the side and with the short turnaround, our recovery and focus is going to be crucial in preparing for the Wasps game.”
