O’Driscoll boost for Leinster

IF there was one obvious downside to Leinster’s defeat of Munster last Friday evening it was the sight of Brian O’Driscoll hobbling off the pitch after half an hour but it seems the Irish captain is recovering and on track to return for Friday’s Heineken Cup encounter with Edinburgh.

O’Driscoll suffered damage to an ankle in the Magners League game at Musgrave Park and speculation early yesterday was that the injury was more serious than initially feared.

However, the centre took some part in training in Clonskeagh yesterday, as did Girvan Dempsey whose own injury problems have sidelined him since the Toulouse game two weeks ago. The only other concern for Michael Cheika is prop Stephen Knoop.
